Event summary and photos by Denise Dacey and Stuart Gewirtzman.

The year 2025 marks 60 years since the founding of the WSS-PONY Branch, and 36 members and guests celebrated the anniversary, and the holiday season, on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at the Churchill Tavern in Manhattan’s NoMad neighborhood. Those attending first enjoyed a three-course Sunday roast featuring such traditional English fare as roast beef, yorkshire pudding and sticky toffee pudding. This was followed by an entertaining look back at the history of the PONY Branch presented by founding member Bill Miller (“Mr. Ocean Liner”). A free “everyone wins” ship collectables raffle concluded the afternoon’s festivities.
